Individual Network, LLC has developed patent protected business methods and readily implementable software and systems that capture the universe of individualized entertainment and advertising. That is, movies, sports, news, and music tailored to a viewer’s demographics, preferred genre, favorite artists, and viewing/listening habits, along with similarly targeted advertising.

The Company’s proprietary Symbiosis™ software not only can direct “unicasts” (each person sees and listens to what they want, when they want) of digital media over any electronic network, including cable, the internet, cellphones and satellite, but it can supplement or build from scratch the individual profiles to which the content is targeted.

To date, the Company has been awarded patents covering the United States and European Union (patents are pending throughout Asia) that convey exclusive rights for the next 15 years to the delivery on-demand of individually customized (based on computer generated profiles) content and advertising over any electronic medium. The patents cover individualization of motion picture content ranging from filtering out “R” rated movies -- a method arguably infringed currently by over $1 billion of cable revenue in the U.S. alone, and growing at 25%/year -- to menus tailored to tastes and habits, to individually targeted advertisements.

The market for individualized, on demand television, and accompanying advertisements is experiencing dramatic growth in the U.S. and should become the worldwide standard over the next 5 years, with entertainment, news and sports streaming to every device from flat screens at home, to cellphones and personal digital assistants, even to automobiles.

Individual Network seeks to form joint ventures or license agreements with content owners and distributors, including cable, internet, telephone and cellphone companies. Through these relationships, The Company can share its legally protected methods and integrate its proprietary software to implement them readily.

Recently, the Company became affiliated with The Heico Companies of Chicago, a $3 billion international conglomerate with an unparalleled record of success in a panoply of manufacturing businesses. While Heico is known for its turnaround capabilities, several years ago it expanded into technology and telecommunications. Founder Michael E. Heisley has known and worked with Individual Network co- Founder Frank Benevento for over a decade. We are pleased to have the managerial and financial support of Heico, and the active participation of Mr. Heisley as the Company begins to commercialize its singular portfolio of technology and intellectual property.

Intellectual Property - Individualized Entertainment, News and Advertising

In 2002, the Company was issued by the USPTO a patent (no. 6,434,747) that conveys exclusive rights to computer generated, profile correlated, individually customized, on demand content and advertising over any electronic medium. This and several other of the Company’s individualized content and advertising patents have invention dates going back over a decade.

In 2004, the seminal patent was expanded in America, patent (no. 6,721,955) to include individualized content with or withouth individualized advertising. In 2006, another patent (no. 7,117,516) was issued covering individualized media delivery, including both music and video, and individualized advertisements independent of content (e.g., ads associated with internet searches but tailored to the profile of the searcher, not the search subject or answer). Also issued was a patent (no. 7,124,091) for an electronic system for pricing ads based on algorithms from the Advertiser’s standpoint and algorithms from the Content Distributors standpoint (IND 104 Individual Pinpointer™).

Internationally in 2006, the European Patent Office issued a patent (EP 1 262 065 B1; pub. no. WO 2001/054403) covering individualized delivery of customized video content, or customized advertising, or both. The Company intends to nationalize this patent to cover the EU's 460 million population. A similar patent was issued by Australia (Letters Patent 776017), and another was issued by Canada (Patent 2,395,835). In 2007, Israel issued a Notice of Allowance (Application 15074) for individualized delivery of customized video content, or customized advertising, or both. The Company anticipates additional awards throughout Asia and South America.

Intellectual Property - Home Shopping

In 2004, the Company was also awarded a patent (no. 6,735,778) for Individual Shopper, a method and system for individualizing the $15 billion (U.S. alone) television home shopping market. This is a significant advance over current home shopping programs, which offer random selections of goods instead of a personalized series of shopping segments, and can increase retail website sales significantly, especially fashion and clothiers, by showing motion picture ads, not just inanimate objects.

The viewer begins by describing the shopper or the “gift recipient” or “gift occasion” to the system. The viewer can submit combinations including hobbies, demographics, interests, gift categories, price points, or specific items. Then a customized schedule of shopping segments or channels will be shown.

In 2007, Taiwan issued the Company a home shopping patent (no. 1280509) covering that internet commerce leader.

Licensees of Individual Shopper can deploy it merely by integrating our Symbiosis™ software (see below) with a customized user interface. can be offered to prospective buyers immediately.

Proprietary Software

The Company's patent is bulwarked by its Symbiosis™ software, which allows people to experience television (and radio) in an entirely new way. The engine distributes television advertisements and programs based on an individual's interests and requests, rather than demographic generalizations. This is accomplished via our Artificial Intelligence (AI) software that delivers ads and content to specific viewers. We collect and keep secure individual data on each viewer, via AI profiling or an optional on-screen profile, and then use that data to target advertising to that particular individual. For example, two people may be watching E.R., but they will see different commercials according to their individual demographic profiles and interests. Among our engine's compelling features are:

  • Ready integration into existing digital cable systems More...
  • Live detailed demographic statistics to advertisers More...
  • Online application for advertisers who wish to buy commercials More...
  • Viewers have personal schedules built specifically for them More...
  • Content owners can securely distribute their digital properties More...
  • Viewers can have their personal information secured More...
  • Viewers can elect to watch content without commercials More...
  • Perfect delivery and pricing of inventory (commercial spots) More...
  • Local advertising is made simpler, quicker, and more efficient More...
